Merit-Based Scholarships

Merit-based scholarships recognize and support outstanding academic work of students while they are in college. With more merit-based scholarships available to high-achieving students, LSU will be able to recruit more of the best students in the nation and retain student leaders who distinguish themselves each day within our halls.

Educational costs at LSU are low compared to many of our peer universities. Even then, college is often financially out of reach for many promising students. Need-based scholarships are there to assist students who face a financial barrier to attending college. At LSU, we believe that each of our students has the potential to make a positive contribution to society, and these contributions influence our state, our nation, and our world. With more support for need-based scholarships, LSU will be able to ensure that talented students are not denied the opportunity of the college experience because of financial need.
