College of Arts & Sciences
The College of Arts & Sciences is the largest academic unit at LSU with more than 450 faculty members. Our 14 departments provide majors for more than 4,500 students and offer core curriculum classes that draw students from every discipline at LSU. In fact, nearly every LSU Tiger will take classes in the College of Arts & Sciences before graduating.
Funds generated from this campaign will help to advance the National Flagship Agenda by assisting the College of Arts & Sciences as it strives to:
- Develop new academic programs that will enable students to graduate with the most modern set of tools for their careers;
- Recruit and retain a diverse student body of the highest quality;
- Reward and encourage faculty research with more endowed professorships and chairs;
- Enrich the learning experience by providing the latest technology, ample on- and off-campus resources and opportunities for off-campus learning;
- Fuel the Louisiana economy by creating a knowledgeable, prepared workforce and providing valuable research and resources to professionals and citizens.
