College of Education
Established in 1908 as a teachers’ college, LSU’s College of Education has transformed into a respected program with a thriving environment for research. The faculty are dedicated to providing a broad understanding of education concepts and their application to schools, fitness and medical centers, business and industry, and a variety of educational settings. Now, as it builds on its 100-year legacy of outstanding teacher preparation, the college prepares to adapt to the growing and changing educational needs of our society.
Funds generated from this campaign will help to advance the National Flagship Agenda by assisting the College of Education as it strives to:
- Recruit and retain a diverse student body of the highest quality;
- Alleviate the financial hardship college poses by offering more need-based scholarships;
- Reward and encourage faculty research with more endowed professorships and chairs;
- Enrich the learning experience by providing the latest technology, ample on- and off- campus resources, and opportunities for off-campus learning;
- Fuel the Louisiana economy by creating a knowledgeable, prepared workforce and by providing valuable research and resources to professionals and citizens.
